Beijing Automobile Works (BAW), a Chinese maker that was part of the state-owned BAIC Group until it was privatised in 2020, entered Indonesia at GIIAS 2026 through PT BAW Automobile Trading Indonesia. Its electric line-up includes the M8 full-size electric MPV (7 to 9 seats, 81 kWh LFP battery, up to 505 km CLTC claimed range), the D5 electric city car and the T10 Pro electric pickup, alongside petrol and diesel SUVs. The M8 is its first model for sale, due to launch with full pricing at Gaikindo Auto Week in November 2026. BAW plans knock-down assembly in West Java.
